KYLE SMITH

On November 8, 2014, I had a near-fatal motorcycle crash. It was a crash just on the edge of survivable. How I survived and came through without any serious long-term impact makes me a lottery winner. Through months in a hospital bed, and long periods of being unable to care for myself, walk, or sit up; through surgeries, pain, difficulty, and bankruptcy – I am alive and was given a gift through that crash.

I blog occasionally about my experiences in recovery. I am working on a book. The working title is Voyage of Recovery. It is the story that brought me to the darkest hours of fear, need, and hope, and then brought me to the best place I’ve ever been in my life. I write the book in hopes I can inspire others who face the challenge of recovery from extreme physical trauma; and to share with them what I learned along the way in hopes it might make their path easier.
